If you’re tired of getting out of the shower cold and shivering we’ve got some good news - Saigon is set to warm up with the arrival of Tet.
According to the Southern Hydro-meteorological Station, we must endure (or enjoy, depending on your perspective) another 2 days of cold weather before temperatures return to their seasonal norms.
Over the past week, the average morning temperature in Saigon has been 18-19 degrees (that’s some straight up Hanoi weather) in the 4th cold front to hit the South in the past 2 months.
The chilly temperatures have also had an impact on public health. Doctors in Saigon and Tien Giang have reported a rise in respiratory problems among children, including pneumonia and tracheitis.
The Station reported that the extended cold weather is rare for southern Vietnam and hasn’t occurred in “many years.”
We actually found the cool weather to be a nice change of pace...
