In From Saigon, a series of colorful drawings, freelance illustrator and graphic designer Lys Bui manages to capture the charm of several well-known Saigon locales, including Tran Hung Dao, Nguyen Hue (before it was a pedestrian-only street) and a few unnamed areas in District 5.
The pictures, featured on RGB, are a vibrant homage to the city's old buildings and stunning colonial architecture, honing in on several structures that may not qualify as famous landmarks or tourist-worthy sights but manage to embody Saigon's golden era.
“I tried to capture the beauty of Saigon through its architecture, history and nostalgia,” the artist told RGB.
